Hi Guys, I did a quick search of the forum but was looking for some more current information.
What printers are the best for printing film?
I looked at the Epson 1430 but it is discontinued now.
Any info would be greatly appreciate.

Epson Artisan 1430 Color Inkjet Printer
Our Epson 1430 is awesome. We use the Ryonet Black Maxx system. We bought the printer off of the Epson website. It was a refurbished model but couldn't tell the difference between a new one or refurbished. I believe we paid around $300 for it. This was just a couple years ago.
Right, no one exactly giving what you asked for there.
Personally, I think it is a waste to use the expensive 6 or 8 color printers for printing black films. More nozzles to clog, more carts to fill, more ink wasted on every cleaning cycle. And I say that as someone who uses an 8 color R1900 (I bought it from Epson's closeout/refurb store to turn it in to a DTG, but ended up not doing that project so used it to print films).
Some people have used printers from the WorkForce line and been happy with them. Others have been unhappy with them. I have a WF7210 that I bought new this year for printing transfers and random stuff. I have no complaints. $150 shipped, NEW, not refurbished. Prints up to 13" wide. 4 colors. You can get refillable carts from Cobra and all the usual suspects. It is a pigment printer, but you can get third party inks in everything from dye for films or sublimation inks. Avoid the other WF models unless you want to pay more to have copier/fax features.
