We use an Epson Stylus 7600 (inkjet) for our film positives. The films print out great, but the black ink most times will come off the film when we burn screens, which does not allow us to keep the films on file & re-use. Anyone have an idea of some type of coating that can be applied? We've tried numerous things like letting the positives sit 24 hrs, dehumidifier, letting coated screens sit longer before burning, etc. Nothing as worked.

I started having the same issue... even to the point where I struggle getting the film off of the emulsion. I know that my issue is the actual film. I was using Ryonet Waterproof R film and did not have a single issue, could save the film for later use. Then I purchased a pack from One Stroke Ink (H2O proof film) and have had an issue with every piece. To expensive to trash, but when I am done I will go back to the R film. Both screen and film are dried in 30% humidity Vastex Dribox.

try dusting your screens with talcum powder or baby powder before burning them, the humidity here in arkansas is around 80-95% in the summer and I always had issues with my films sticking, I'm using waterproof R-film also, love the film, hate our humidity

what film are you using?

i have had great success with both the fixxons film, and now i am using onestopinc's branded film. not sure who makes it. slightly more expensive than fixxons. i only switched to get me over my free freight limit, and it happened to be the week i was going to order fixxons anyway. so far, i have no problems with it.

i print with an epson 1100. and some generic black ink i buy on ebay for 15 a quart.

last week at minds eye graphics in indiana, they were inspecting my films and commented on how great they looked.
