I have some Knit hats to do and the standard hoop is a bear to get the beanie in , will fast frames do this ?
Larry
I have had success with FF and knit caps. I used some heavy duty clips because the cap is a little bit heavy and the backing doesn't hold it well in place. You may need to slow down the speed as well.

Fast Frames are great for knit hats. I agree that using clips to hold the hat in place is necessary. Make sure that you trace the design before putting the hat on so you are sure you clear the metal on the frame. Also make sure your clips stay out of the way ot the needle.

What size FF do you use for the common knit hat/beanie?
I have the the set of FF's, but the window is not quite wide enough.
If I go up a size for the add-on, I'm afraid I may overstretched the hat.
Thanks!

Wow, some good help here, thanks.
It seems everbody wants these hats right now. We are doing ok with them, but these suggestions open some other choices up.

How about for width?
A customer is asking for wording to run like 7-8" (just under half of the hat diameter).

Why are you having such a hard time hooping your beanies in regular hoops? Have you loosened the tension on the ring? You should easily be able to do those with regular hoops. I do agree the mighty hoops work great but they're awfully expensive. I just don't see the reason to spend all that money on clamps or mighty hoops when regular hoops work very easily. We do lots of beanies and have no problems with them whatsoever. Feel free to pm me and I'm happy to help if you need it.

Fast frames can work but I prefer just using a regular hoop for knits as I dislike fast framing everything.
