Will fashion film get dye migration issues from 100% poly garments? The lady at Stahls had no idea and sounded like she was just hired, very frustrating. Their website says its best for cotton, but then an online .pdf says its fine for 100% poly.

What say you?

In my experience with Fashion Film, I did have a client tell me a shirt bleed from washing. The shirt I used was a red Gildan 200. The Fashion Film color was yellow.

Hello,

Any type of thin heat applied vinyl is subject to dye migration issues, especially on a dark 100% polyester. The lighter colored the vinyl of course the more susceptible it is.

Our Cad Cut Premium Plus can apply as low as 280F, and also we have Cad Cut Thermo Film that is thicker and will lessen the possibility of dye migration.
