I ordered a qt of RED from victory factory and they sent me "scarlet red"...... and i swear this thing is a red/dark orange.
I am livid right now.
The shirts I printed this on are shirts my customer provided...and now I have to replace them.

should I call my supplier and ask them WTH?

I don't know what to do...

So if you got the wrong red, why did you print them??? Their fault for sending you the wrong color and your fault for ruining the shirts.

First off why would you use it knowing that it was not exactly what you ordered. Second of all why would you only order a quart..? 1 quart cost $20-$25. 4 quarts = 1 gallon and that cost $40-$45. First lesson always make sure your colors match. Second lesson always make sure you colors match.

It was 8 shirts...but customer said it's ok I'm going to just lower the price I charge him.

I always noticed a shade of orange on "scarlet red" ink from International Coatings and Union ink... When I want a RED, I used "bright red".

But I do remember that about 10 years ago "Scarlet Red" was more red, not that orange looking color it is now... is it just me ???

You should have done a test shirt before printing up the final shirts if you were unsure of the color. If I was the ink company, I would have taken your call then laughed at you then replied with "sucks to be you right now."

Dont blame others for your mistakes, it just makes you look amateur.

Hi All,
Thanks for the input.
Turns out the customer liked the color and paid me full price. He said they are college style shirts and the orange tint reminded him of Syracuse.
The color was not as important to him as the actual spelling of the design.
I was stressed for no reason...

I didn't want to do them in vinyl because it is a 2 color distressed print. Which is more fun to screen print anyway than weeding out all those distress details.

and last but not least....LESSON LEARNED!

Ordering a bright red from another company.

I got paid, everyone is happy.
