Hello. I hope someone may be able to offer a little advice...

I'm looking to create a label to sew onto the front of a garment. The look I'm trying to achieve is similar to the woven label pictured below. These are short runs so printing woven labels is not an option. I have tried thermal printing onto some standard polyester satin ribbon but it looks a bit cheap and not the desired effect. Does anyone know if this would be possible with sublimation and if so, can you recommend some good fabric to print onto? I'm going to be printing small black text and would like it to last the life of the garment!

Thanks

Sublimation will work, even with smaller text. Conde.com sells various fabrics for sublimation. The trick would be to find the size you need without having to cut and sew. Also check out etsy.com for smaller runs of printed labels. Not expensive at all.

Sublimation will work but does not have any variation in texture and that makes the labels look flat and cheap in my opinion.

Screen printed canvas type labels are is often used by well known brands.
They can be inkjet printed as well, but the screen printed ones look better, are more durable, and can have more texture.
Here are some examples
