I'm interested in printing Simulated Process and I don't know what kind of exposure unit I need. I've read the metal halide is suppose to be the best but I was wondering if any other unit would work. I also want to be able to print detailed artwork. Any information would be appreciated.

Metal-halide for sure. If you're industrious and do some research, you can build an excellent system for less than 500.00. I built 2 such systems and they work amazing! 10sec to 60 sec exposures with excellent exposure depending on emulsion type.
2 key components- 1- a vacuum blanket, 2-a single-point metal-halide light source.
My light are only 400 watts 110v.
