Hi i have a few picture to show you guys to diagnose if is possible this is my first tryout and it didnt come up as i expected.

I coated in my tipi, that has a fear amount of light filtration but i tried to be as fast as i could. Then i position my screens in a dark room box that i made by joining 3 pallets and covering it with 2 long stripes of plastic and double checkd if there was any light filtration and i think it wanst. Let that cure overnight and today in the midday i exposed it.

Im exposing with a 500W working light. aprox 60cm (23.5inch) the firs picture i exposed for 6 minutes and washed it with a high presure washer. The second one was exposed for 8.30 minutes same distance but i washed it progresively with a hose then the gerni but from a longer distance and it kind of worked but my fine lines are far out to be printable.

So i just let you with my pics and if you can help a bro ill really apretiate any input.

This screens are ment to be printed on recicled paper 200g that is a big challenge because it isnt flat but ill give it a try anyways.

well Matt first of all thx for your answer! and about the second pic the top of the screen came off while washing i guess its just too much pressure? as well the inner fonts where the days are it isnt really clear and some parts of the fonts just didnt come out very clear, here is a test that ive done and it has this looks that i dont really understand

the test was in a 90grs white printer paper i guess the paper absorbs too much of the water on the ink? maybe im doing something wrong in my flood or print? i thought as well that it might be lack of off-contact?

This is my very first time using a squeege and i must say that it isnt the easiest of the tasks even with all the research that ive done it can be really tricky!

Im thinking on taking the glass protection out from the work light and maybe put it a little bit closer to the screen... as well i thought on lowering the exposure time to 7 minutes to see if my detail can be more visible before trying to make my font bigger but still a bit confusing at this point.

Looking at the last picture you posted of the print on paper leads me to believe you are close to acheiving a successful print.

The ink bleeding out around in various parts of the design could be caused by a few different things.

If your screen burned perfectly then it is a problem with how you are pulling the squeegee.

If your screen is not properly burned than the screen itself and not a problem with your stroke is possibly the issue.

To print finer detail you need to not smash the squeegee into the screen and in turn the substrate. A typical error rookies make when pulling the squeegee is using too much pressure, causing ink to be forced out around the edges of your stencil.

Try holding the squeegee nearly vertical, put firm even pressure down with both hands and then pull the squeegee towards you keeping even pressure and the same angle all the way across the image.

How much ink you put down is dependent on these things. (There are many more factors but assuming you already chose the correct screen and ink these are a pretty simple way to control print quality)

-Speed
-Angle
-Pressure
-durometer (stiffness of the squeegee blade)

Try differents angles and pressures to see if you can get that detail to show up

Also what mesh count of screen are you using?

If your screen is not properly exposed and in turn is the cause of your problems than you need to keep reburning screen till you get a good one and then try the steps above.

If your having trouble with consistency when burning screens try purchasing some Ulano Capillary film New vision 35. Takes out all the inconsistencies of applying emulsion.
