Hi

I am just going to purchasea secondhand Epson r300 printer and a new CIS for it. But i do have a few questions.

If I put sublimation inks in to the CIS, can I use normal durabrite inks at a later stage for indoor stickers?

I have a cutter already, and was thinking that I would like to get the most out of my printer, i.e. use it with normal ink durabrite ink cartigaes for photos, normal print and maybe indoor stickers and then just plug in the CIS for sublimations inks.

Cheers for any advice:)

I guess that you could do this, but you would need to do a head cleaning between every use and with the price of dye sub ink you would be a lot better off just buying 2 printers. When you do dye sublimation you have enough things to worry about, why add one more?

I agree with BRC. Switching inks can be costly and I heard switching back and forth can damage the heads. (Not sure on that, just what I heard.) Check out craigslist. I just picked up an R320 and a Stylus Photo 1280 for $35. The 1280 prints 13x19 so instead of switching my 1400 over to sublimation, I will use the 1280 for sublimation. The R320 I just grabbed because you couldn't beat two printers for $35. But epson priters can be found for very cheap on craigslist. I will try that before I waste money switching out inks back and forth.
