Just curious... Epson says you can use any of the makes of pretreat with their ink. Has anyone run any comparisons between theirs, Duponts and Image Armor? The latter is about 20 % cheaper. The only problem I see with changing brands is if there is grief in ink color fastness, Epson could always blame the others.

I've tried several different types of pretreatment with the F2000 and I've gotten excellent results. I don't think you have to worry about color fastness in this case since all work so well. I haven't done a comparison as such (though I think that's a good idea) but my initial impression is that different types of pretreatment will display the same characteristics with Epson inks as they do with DuPont inks.

Excellent question, and would be awesome to see wash tests between all of them at 1 wash, 3 washes, 10 washes.

IA is fantastic because you don't ruin shirts by putting too much on. But that can lead to waste.

Looking forward to see wash tests from an official Epson F2000 owner.

My rule of thumb is always go with recommendation by mfg or suppliers. Unless price and quality is significantly different. You are talking about penny per shirt.
AA sells IA, DuPont and Epson PT.
But all the samples by Epson we print at shows and sending out samples are pretreated by Epson PT. It is not right to show end users which Mfg is not recommended. Especially from the start.
I also very against be a guinea pig. Don't be, let others first. Lol.
Cheers! Inks are on me always.

Bryan, I tested the DuPont pretreat with the Epson inks and they did good. But, from my initial tests, it appears the Epson pre-treat does a better job with their inks, in particular with the white ink lay down. I didn't do wash tests with DuPont pretreat and Epson inks.

If you are Pro Epson
1. Who does not favor to maintenance.
2. Who look for good image. Epson F2000 is Top 2 best image printer. RIP will enhance more.
3. Who just starting(majority)
4. Worry free with warranty.
All 6 dealers are staring to compete with many Free things.
Free shipping (Epson give dealers free shipping. Drop ship include)
Free install (need hour or so)
Free training (how to pretreat and rest are piece of cake)
While sellers are paying all expenses. air ticket, hotel, rental car, meals.
More are possibly going on too. I saw Few dealers are offering Pretreat machine as package at lower price than their normal price. I am not sure this is against Epson policy or not.
I foresee dealers will eating own flesh. This is EPSON's concerning. Epson wants all dealers make money not make even. Let's see how things going to go.
No dealers will offer less than any other dealers. They all want to put more dishes on the table. Human nature.:)
Cheers! Inks are on me always.
