Error Check Carriage Sensor or VC motor

15306 Views 11 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  grafifor
I have a Jaguar IV 61 cutter and after attempting to cut a vinyl design through StoneCut Pro the error message "Check Carriage sensor or VC motor" displays
Now I have already lowered the pressure, raised the blade, moved the media, changed the blade (and blade holder) and nothings changed. The machine will size the media but when it goes to cut the unobstructed blade won't even touch the media before the error pops up and it moves freely when pushed down (gently) by hand.
I'm in a panic seeing dollar signs coming at me and need help.

I know it has been a long while since this post, but did you ever find a solution?

Thanks
Well, it took us awhile to figure that all out. We (son and I) would take a part out, send it to GCC, wait for a return of the part. This happened for about 3 parts that they were helping us fix. The NEW machine was out of commission for a quite awhile I remember. It was frustrating but educational at the same time. We learned how to fix just about the whole machine in that time that it was down. At the end of the time of calls, fixes and frustration, they (GCC) had a bad batch of VC motors and they were apparently going down to all who purchased them. So, we ended up then sending the whole machine back to GCC. They had also hooked up remotely and couldn't fix it. Don't throw your new box away, lesson learned. Digital Art Solutions was great and sent me a box they had (as I had placed an order thru them), what a saver that was (box alone is about $100.00). GCC paid shipping one way and us the other. They fixed the cutter and all is well and happy now. Knowledge has been gained in this about the cutter. MY son is physically handicapped so he talks me thru the repairs, . Thanks for asking and apologies for not reposting the end result.

Thanks for reply. Sounds like a frustrating experience, glad it's all good in the end.

have to say luckily our machine, started to work fine after i cleaned the lenses and the rails from dust. and who knows maybe because I changed some settings on my computer. But it's working for now, hopefully it stays that way , and isn't anything more serious, like in your case.

Thanks

best

Our problem ended up being the VC motor board located on top of the cutting head died.
Their customer service was great.

When we had this error we were still under warranty so we only had to pay shipping so I'm sorry that I can't give you a price. Disassembly of the machine is pretty easy.

After the new board was installed the cutter has been working fine without any errors.

Dear Melissa,

I have similar and some other problems on Jaguar V 61cm. That is why I looking for Service Manual, Parts Manual and or Maintenance Manual for Jaguar V.
Could you please help me with those documents by case?

Thank you in any case.
Well good luck. Just googled for your manual and came up with this...

Jaguar V Series User Manual - The Rhinestone World www.therhinestoneworld.com › assets › images › Jagua...
Hi, Melissa

Thank you for your attempt to help me.

As any Jaguar V owner I have User manual. It is also possible to be downloaded fro GCC Club website and from many other places in the web. I asked you about Maintenance Manual, where service technician could find full spare parts list and repair procedures. I asked you, because in your previous post you provided the link for Jaguar IV series Maintenance Manual.

My apologies for disturb. And big thanks for your time.
