error apg motor aps sensor epson 1400

I removed the printer epson 1400 and when I removed the engine ASF to reconnect the printer CARRIAGE has shifted completely to the left and the engine still running CARRIAGE CARRIAGE pounding against the wall.
Anyone know what could it be? I have to align the APG and APG MOTOR SENSOR somehow.?

Check post 72 for links to the service manual it has a good trouble shooting section in it begining at page 40 of the manual

There is some info about the carriage bumping against the frame on page 59 of the manual
