I have error 6101 on my GT-541 printer, can anyone help? Of course it's the weekend and I have three huge print jobs! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The 6101 error message is a generic one that involves an error with the moving of the print head carriage, so there could be a couple of things that you will need to look at it. You are probably going to have to wait till Monday to go through all of them with either the Embroidme tech or if you can the Brother GT Tech Support line (877-427-6843). The items to look at are the following:
1. Check the carriage motor and sensor.
2. Check the encoder strip.
3. Check the flat cable that connects the main PCB board to the Carriage PCB board.
Unless you know what these are already and how to access them, I would recommend you wait till you can speak with an authorized tech.
Thanks, unfortunately I am familiar with these parts,I have checked the encoder strip and the flat cable, what should I look for on the carriage motor and sensor? Thanks for your help, always happens when I need it most.
Carriage motor is on the right side of the GT-541 printer. Just want to make sure everything is plugged in and there is not dust build up on the motor or the belt. How old is the GT-541 printer?
It is 5 yrs old, I have been lucky but just the most inconvenient time to happen, big jobs for festival this week, wondering if it will be possible to get up and printing
Being that the printer is 5 years old, one of the parts or cables could be worn out. I would just strongly suggest that you call the Brother GT Tech Support line (877-427-6843) have them walk you through their steps to determine what could be your issue. That would be the fastest way unless you want to have a tech come to your shop.
Best wishes,
Mark
