Err Sometime I wanna kick this machine into the trash can
stupid thing was banding bad so did ink clean head twice
Got a little better but wasn't satisfied yet, so I did 2 ink charges and got better.....
The story still continues because I still notice a faint banding in solid colors??

Any ideas on how to clean head itself... I know can't touch it with swab.. well you sorta can i suppose but what should I do in this case..

Uhh now i can't prints girls in Bikini shirts for myself sigh

Sean, LOL I know they can be temperamental at times. create a pice of art with 4 boxes, one each for CYMK and print them a few times along with a head cleaning or two and you should be OK. I have found this happens when the humidity in the room with mine get to low. Needs to be about 50%.
Be sure and post a pic of the girls...lol

Sean,

When you say ink charge, do you mean using the Epson Adjustment Utility? If so, I would not do those any more as you are using a lot of ink. If you mean a standard head clean, then you might want to use the Adjustment program once. Then run a nozzle check to see if you are getting all the nozzles firing properly. If none of that works, then here is what I would do:

1. Try adjusting your settings in the RIP to see if you are just not laying down enough ink for the fabric that you are printing. This is usually not the solution, but it is the fastest thing to do.

2. Make sure that you thoroughly clean the maintenance station (including the wiper blade) and the metal plates around the outside of the print head. Sometimes you can get lint on the print head or ink build up on the wiper blade that does not clean the print head properly and it creates what looks to be banding.

3. Put some Cleaning Fluid, Simply Green or Clog Buster in the maintenance station and park the print head for several hours. Running too many ink charges and head cleanings can build up foam in the print head that needs to settle before you can get a good print.

Hope this gets you back to printing girls in binikis!

Hi Sean sorry to hear yo're having problems, glad John could help. do you print with it everyday? shake the white?
I know there are problems but I am hoping to get mine going at a good pace and get some great shirts.
Someone told me to use the distilled water in the capping station, they just got one also and said they think the water works better than the other things they tried. Might want to give it a try anyway. each night after cleaning the capping station put the distilled water in and let it sit overnight.
Good luck:)

Sean,

Have you tried printing a color chart out? You will probably realize that the standard color palettes (Corel) / swatches (Photoshop) will have colors that don't necessarily show up the same using the dtg inks. Thus, you need to print a color chart out to see which color will give you the best result once the ink is cured using your settings. If you don't already have a color chart, you can use one of the ones here - CMYK & RGB Color Charts - MultiRIP Sublimation, Transfers, Photograph and Direct-to-Garment Printing RIP Softwares. I include the corresponding palettes / swatches for the 510 color chart as well. If you want to use the 2040 color chart, you will need to use the PDF document to determine what the RGB color values are.

The key is that you want to make sure that you use the same RIP settings, your graphic is in the same color mode (RGB, CMYK) and your printer is firing all the nozzles the same. This will give you the best repeatable results. You may want to play with the settings in your RIP to determine which RIP settings work the best for the different types of graphics (vector, raster). Hope this helps.

Interesting

Is there a better Rip for Anajet beside crap one that came with it?
I can't waste time changing certain colors so it will look better...
I just want to drag, drop and print....
I always got issue with adjusting certain images a few times to make it look acceptable

Most people prob. wouldn't be able to tell the difference but some do....
I know Brother is compatible with a Wasatch rip but is there one for Anajet beside the Eukene Joke of a rip

If you are not longer using the white ink why not just print from corel?
You do not need the rip if you are not using white.
Maybe that will work for you rather than buying more software.

I hate Corel and usually use Photoshop and Illustrator if needed
The issue is that clients give me crap files sometimes and hate tweaking them
I tried printing from the drivers software and outcome was worse in my opinion
I guess I am just use to using "good Rips" that actually print what I seen on screen first time Lol
Just for sh'ts and giggles I printed a photo of a client and came out awful
was baseball seen and brown in background was black and my tires
This printer does good job on vectors and that not what my complaints are on
when it comes to photographic things that tick me off
Clients artworks usually come out nice with some tweaking and now I am thinking I got a second lemon from anajet at this point....

First one i got had issues from beginning and the admitted that that line was having issue
this one had a chip fry and screen goes blank because it is a faulty screen that my rep. has to replace

I guess I am asking to much from this tin box because isn't like i am not away about setting up colors
I got X-rite spectrometer with cmky software,Lacie color accurate monitor, silverfast scan software ect...
All machines make me happy and never give me an issue but this thing is just errr

I think I will print a few more burger guy and spring break girl shirts for myself to cheer me up
To bad brunette hair is almost black when it prints LMfaO

BTW Teresa, you still have a Brother right? Do you notice that you get printer on colors on that or am I just thinking that my T-shirts should look just as good as my Epson/Roland/Or canon ha

You would still have to use some driver and the corresponding profile. Otherwise, you are going to use the Epson R1800 driver and it will pull ink from the 4 other channels and your colors will not even be close. If you run the printer in a Dual CMYK mode, then there is a special driver that Anajet provides with the printer that you can use. However, most people don't think that this driver does a better job on photos.

Sorry
guess I didn't realize you had to use rip for the dual cmyk. I have the brother and only use corel and also use corel for the anajet but I have the white ink in so I guess that is what makes the difference

It is a modified Epson printer, the same as others :) With photos I usually lower the saturation level by about 10% printing two layers at 720dpi per layer with a photo setting.

Also I have heard several times from anajet owners, that you should not clean the face of the printhead. I clean mine on my hm1 all the time and know that several dtg owners of different machines clean theirs also. If I dont, It will get buildup on it and around it, just because the wiper does not always remove everything 100%. If I dont do this, I also get more problems with banding.

I think that is a problem that they do not give a really accutate maintenance schedule to keep the machines running.

With my machine this is what I do.

When I switch my machine on in the morning, I do a head clean and then a nozzle check.
Depending on results, I will clean printhead with a foam tip cleaner and cleaning solution.
This usually works and I start printing.

At the end of the day:

I clean capping station and wiper blade.
Insert around 8 to 10 drops of distilled water in capping station and turn off.

Once a week I clean encoder strip and clean the face of my printhead with a foam tip cleaner and cleaning solution.

Once every 4 to 6 weeks I do a flush with distilled water and cleaning solution mixed, about 50% of each. I flush until fluid is coming thru to waste bottle clear.

I also at all times keep my humidity at a minimum of 50% in my printroom, which makes a major difference in the way it prints, then when the humitity is low.

I dont need to shake my white ink because my machine has the white ink agitator, which I always leave on, so my ink never settles.

In well over a year I have only had to replace I think 3 dampers, and I once replaced a printhead after around 11 months of use. That was my own fault as I let my printer sit turned off for 3 to 4 days because I was sick.

Oh sorri,

I was wondering if you get better quality on the brother than anajet?
I know resolution on Anajet is supposedly better but On fabric it don't realli matter because ink saturated in fabric different then paper.

Main reason I ask is that I got into huge fight on another forum about it...
Printed something for a kid and than had same thing done by someone with Brother ..JPD I believe
end results were much better and I looked like an a$$ but gave that kid my 2 cents in an email LOL
