my epson work force 1100 says it doesn't recognize the cartridges. i am using after market refillable cartridges. i take the cartridges out wait a min, put them back in, hit ink button to recharge which is wasting ink. then it starts working again. i have to do this every time i turn the printer on. can anyone help me?

You most likely going to need a new set. Does this happen when it shows that the ink level is low?

I have CISS for 7+ years and has happened twice. Manufacture sends me a new chip set and fixes the issue. I believe the auto reset function gets messed up.

i had the same happen once. contacted the guy i bought my carts from, he sent me new chips.

most likely, it's not the "carts" it's the "chips" causing the problem.

Jay you are correct but some of the cheaper refillable cartridge sets don't have replaceable chips. Also unless you have the sponge less design every 2-3 years it's not a bad idea to replace the cartridges as not to starve the head.

I have a WF1100, as far as I know they dont have chips. I pull out the cart and leave them out for a min of 5 minutes then plug them back in.

All cartridges have chips if they didn't your printer wont print
