epson sp 1400 is the same as the r1400?can be converted to dgt too?

Hi guys I'm looking into to put myself in a conversion to DTG I'm on a bid on ebay for a Epson SP 1400 it looks the same as the r1400
Does it make any deference ?:confused:
Can I follow stripping down the printer step by step as the 1900 I can't find any thread or video
:confused: I'm still new to this forum :D Please any Help? Many Thanks to those who direct me to the diy DTG thread:)
