most of epson printers DO use pigment inks. is it brand new or did you buy it from someone?
a lot of people switch out the original pigment ink cartridges for a dye sub system (i forget what it's called but you can search on this forum and find it) for larger dye ink mega ink systems used for dye sub printing.
i've got a epson photo 2200 13 x 19 for doing regular print stuff (comps etc.) and a workforce 1100 for outputting films for burning screens. love them both. i've been using epson printers exclusively since the early 90's. nothing ever bad to say about them.
Bought it new; comes with photo black pigment, others are dye. Switching out original pigment inks isn't the issue. I want to switch the colors, which are dye, other than black to pigment. Do pigment carts apply ink in the same manner as dye based?
