Hi everyone

I use the Epson f2000. I have the power cleaning turned off so that it does not do a medium head clean when it starts up.

However, in the middle of printing (lets say sometimes 20 or maybe 40 shirts etc) the machine decides to do a medium (i hope it is medium and not heavy) head clean by itself. I do not understand why it does it, because the print before comes out perfectly fine.

Is there any reason behind this or anyway to turn this off so that it does not do it? I tried to look for something to stop it but it keeps happening. Once again this is not the power cleaning when i turn on the machine as I already have that setting off. Thanks

Hi Brandon,

Please give us a call and we can remote access into your computer to make sure everything is set correctly.

i posted something similar to this on a different thread.
Best response I received was from Dave

Its not un common for Epson printers to do a clean when it thinks it necessary, I am not sure if this is based on a particular time interval or duration of printing or if it detects something.
But the F2000 isn't the only printer to do this.

If you can do anything about this it will be in the service program (which isn't available to anyone but the engineers). But I am not aware of seeing anything that can change this, its just part of the cost of owning these machines.

Best regards

-David

My machine would do the same thing, but not after 20-30 prints. I've noticed it happened to me twice already. I've had the machine since May 5.

Jerid, can you tell me what is the latest firmware number?

Thank You

To Harry: Will give you a call

To Jerid: Yep firmware is good to go.

To Hai: Okay maybe I am fine then since it has happened to you as well. As long as it is for a good cause then I guess there is no harm.

I think the temperature picking up over the past couple of days may have caused it since it got a bit hotter than usual. Only conclusion that I can come up with and then maybe this is causing the head cleans. This only started this week and barely occurred before

Do you know if it's a medium cleaning?

Thanks!
Hai, after researching this with Epson, they told me (as Eric stated) the ink is acting as a coolant. It's due to ambient temperature and usage. If you use the system quite a bit in normal conditions, it will clean every so often. If you are in a garage which can tend to get hotter, the cleanings will be more frequent. If you have high usage and in a hotter garage type climate, it will be the most frequent.

Temperature control will help reduce this. As for the level of clean, I'm not sure. I posed this question to Epson last week and am still waiting on a response.
