I have a 4880 Epson Printer with Sawgrass Air titanium ink 220 cl . I was using it fine for 1.5 years but when the printing was streaking I took out the cartridges to see maybe the ink was low. After reinserting them two will not register. I call sawgrass they say to bad it is too old to get a replacement. Now it has been siting for a couple of weeks and I really could use someone in Chicagoland area who uses those machines everyday to advise me. I probably have to get couple new cartridges, but will I need a flush or some other cleaning to get those heads working fine again. I am about 70 miles west of Chicago.
My regards Victor

You want to be careful as Dave mentioned it may not be your cartridges. Not sure if you have one but it may be worth getting a chip resetter and see if that works. We had an Epson 4800 and had all sorts of issues with it reading cartridges - espcially the black cartridge. I would definitley check the Epson to make sure you do not buy cartridges for no reason. The only real way to check a slot is to buy orginal Epson cartridges and try them to see if the slot is reading the cartridge.

Be very careful.
It is rare to reset a chip because
them the chip and the bag of ink
are out of sync.

I do not think this is the right
thing to do.

Check the bag inside the cart to
see if it has ink and if so
How much?

If the chip died, your supplier
should help.
