I was in the middle of printing the last transparency I needed to finish up a project and of course, mid print, the epson ink monitor pops up and tells me it can not recognize my CISS carts anymore...

I have no idea how it can decide something like that mid print, but besides that, how can I get these working again.

For some reason it still recognizes all the other inks except black and yellow. This CISS has been working fine for 3 or 4 months now but all of the sudden it wont even print because it doesnt recognize those 2 carts.

I have an epson 1430, we bought the CISS specifically for the 1430 so it shouldnt have any problems. Any help would be wonderful.

I have the same printer had the same problem. Make sure that when you install your ink cartridge it goes all the way down in place and the latch has to click.

This can be a finicky printer especially on cheaper CISS units. Unseat cartridges and reseat. Making sure the are all seated properly. If it doesn't there is a good possibility that the chips have gone bad. Most suppliers have replacement chips but the cheaper system mold the chips so they can't be replaced easily.

I would pop out the CISS for 10 min. then re-insert the cartridge that always works for me. Also never, never, never update the printers firmware. Good luck.
