Sup fellow screen printers..

1. Any of you have an issue with your printer that when you send a job to print the printer spits out like 2 or 3 sheets before it actually prints?

2. have you noticed the leftover ink that is left in your cartridge after the printer says its time to change out the cartridge? It's so expensive that it hurts looking at it and not be able to do nothing about it? can something be done?

3. can I buy refillable cartridges?

btw.. just got this epson so we are learning

#1 Mine sometimes does that once when printing film. Obviously a visual sensor might not work 100% with transparent media. Some put a piece of masking tape on the leading edge of the film that passes under the sensor. If you are having this issue when printing paper, you might try blowing some canned air around the paper sensor.

#2 That is how Epson printers work. They estimate how much ink is being used for each print and keep track of that (there is nothing measuring the actual ink level). They err on the side of leaving ink in the cart, as running the head dry can damage the head.

#3 Yes. See Cobra, InkOwl, etc.

1. Make sure that if you are using any type of rip software to have a transparent background as having a white background will cause the print to come out black. **This has happened to me a lot of times and i know how frustrating it is.** Also the ink should not wipe away like that so you may have it printing on the wrong side. (just a thought)

2. That happens to me all the time, i would replace the ink cartridge as i have learned that leaving it in and using all the ink up could damage the print head.

3. Yes you can, I use refillable cartridges and they work perfectly fine for me. I bought mines from inkjetcarts , I would also recommend to try and get a CIS system for your printer, it makes ink management much easier in my opinion.
