I have replaced my CIS for my Epson 1430 Artisan and all of the ink lights are still on and the light that says the ink is out. I have reset the cartridges many times, hit the reset button and everything that I can think of. Any suggestions?

First try hitting the cartridge change button. Then hit the reset button. The reset only works when carts are in the change position. If you already did this try hitting change ink, lift all the cartridges and rest. If that doesn’t work,

Then

Sounds like they sent a set with older chips on them (only works with 1400). If your old Ciss has the same chip set you can switch them.
What is the cartridge change button?

On the printer that you hit to change the cartridges when empty. On the 1430 it’s the button to the right and has a drop on it.

Hit it, head and cartridge section will move to the change position. Then press and hold reset 10-20 sec to make sure they reset. Hit the change button. Printer should go though a priming sequence and be ready to print.
Ok, I tried going back to regular cartridges to see if I could get them to work. I still have all 6 lights lit and the ink drop light. Any ideas?
Are your "regular cartridges" OEM?

Do you have the epson status monitor installed on your comp? It will usually tell you what is going on with the printer.

If you've had the printer for a while or run it frequently then it may be that your waste tank is full. If that's the case you will have to get a reset key for it.

Does your CISS have a built in reset button? Or do you have to pull them out and put them back in every time your carts register as ink out? Either way if you've gone through the motions and the lights are still blinking then it might be as stated above that your chips on the cartridges are either no good or old.

Sometimes, for some weird reason, pulling all the plugs out (both the power and the usb) from the printer, leave the printer off for about 5min, and restarting your computer while the printer is disconnected works.
Are you pushing the carts/ciss in firmly enough at the front? There should be a discernable click when they go in.
Yes, I switched back to regular cartridges and it still is not working. :(

Ok. Your ink lights are solid, not flashing. Your pc is telling you your out of ink? Or you just going by ink lights being on?

Your pc telling you unrecognized cartridges or empty. If with the factory carts saying empty they can’t be reset without a resetter. If you are getting message ink is empty with either then your Ciss isn’t resting to empty. On 1 printer I get unrecognized carts every time even when resetting. I have to install Ciss. Hit cartridge change. Lift each cartridge section and reseat. Hit cartridge and it works. It’s odd cause both are 1430

If the waste ink pad is full all the lights flash and message is the printer has reached its end of life. Simply resetting doesn’t work. You would also need to install a waste ink tank (google it) or replace waste ink pad. Cost for pad use to be high and installing isn’t for the average joe.
