Hoping someone can help me out. I have 2 epson 1400's. I've had them both for years and they have been pretty good machines.
Last week the one I use for printing positives was giving us some issues so we did head cleaning after head cleaning. Then all of a sudden I get 2 blinking red lights. We really needed it going so I said forget it I'll just buy a new one. So I got the 1430. Works great

Well today the one I use for sublimation same thing we were getting ink issues so we did head cleaning after head cleaning and guess what we got the 2 blinking red lights

Can doing head cleaning after head cleaning do this? I really rather not go out and buy another one

Does it pop up with any message on screen? For example...parts inside your printer are at the end of life?

If so, look for info on resetting your ink pads. That should fix it. (I have two of each 1400 and 1430)

Nope. That happened a few years ago and we bought a kit online to hold the ink in a container and we reset the count and its been working great.

I called epson and they said something is jamming the head from moving. Well i'm looking at it and nothing is there. So not sure what to do

The worst or best part is a new one is only a few hundred dollars so its cheaper to just buy a new one than to drive and have someone fix it.

Looks like thats what i'm going to have to do

Could it be possible that your " maintenance tank" is full? Because on an 1400 this tank is not changeable.

By the way, if you have clogging issues use a bigger medical syringe with a hose and some sublimation cleaning solution. Plug the hose over the little "nipple" you can see when unplug the cardridges. Place a tissue under the printhead and slightly push ink through it.

The 1400 has a waste ink pad. They are replaceable but easier to install a waste ink tank. The ink counter can be reset. It may need to be reset a few times depending on use and ink cleanings.

Usually a dirty coder strip won't show up after a head cleaning and usually its all the lights blinking.

If the 2 lights are blinking slow then its the waste ink pad. Doesn't matter you have it bypassed as it done by a internal counter. 2 fast blinking lights are a fatal error and can be many issues.
