Hi Sam,

It sounds like you have a bad chip on your bulk system. The good news is that the 1400 bulk system is modular and all the pieces can be replaced individually including the chip. If you hit the Ink Drop button, the print head will move to the left, and will stop the cartridge in front of the arrow to tell you which cartridge it is. If you hit the button again, it will move to any other cartridges it may have a problem with, and so on. Once it has finished, the head will move back to the right. Pull the bulk system back off, and make sure the chips are in straight, and make sure there is nothing on the chip to stop the printer connectors from touching the chip. You can clean it with a pencil eraser. Put the bulk system back on, and make sure to reboot your printer and the computer, and if you still have problems, call Sawgrass at 888-253-1679, they will be able to send you a new chip.

Hi Kevin Sawgrass sent me the chips and my 1400 is working. This box was sealed and shipped from from sawgrass without chips on them. I took for granted that everythin g was ok. I do not blame my supplier (aplha supp.) Jack who genuine concern to fix the problem. but i got my answer from the forum Kevin and took. it from there. I must say that sawgrass shipped the chips overnight and was very helpful in installing them .
THANKS again to Tshirt forum and its helpful members.:)
