Epson 1100 printer issue

Hi everyone. I am Lasse from Scandinavian Apparel.

I am having kind of an odd printer issue. Our company slowly started doing some heat transfers using a Epson wf7010 last year. We never got the colours right when printing files containing blacks and colors. The blacks came out blue or purple. Printing only black was fine. Twisting and tweaking did not help.

When the wf7010 broke down a couple of months ago we decided to go for an Epson 1100 instead (good choice). Using the same inks as we did in the wf7010 all files now printed beautifully without any strange blue or purple tint.

So we decided to get yet another Epson 1100 to start doing sublimation transfers with Chinese sublimation inks. But now we have exactly the same issue as we had with the wf7010. It seams impossible to print grays. They come out with a strong purple tint to them messing up all artworks.

Printing the exact same artwork/files from Photoshop to the two Epson 1100 printers produce completely different results. The transfer printer prints a perfect result but the sublimation printer is way of colourwise. The printer settings is identical.

Does anyone know what we can do to fix this? We are working out of a studio in Shanghai and have to rely on Chinese inks. I have tried to change almost every printer setting there is and have also installed Sawgrass ICC as it was recommended for similar issues.

Besides this I can strongly recommend the Epson 1100 over the Epson wf7018.

All help much appreciated!

You need an ICC that is specific to your printer model and the exact inks, you can't expect another suppliers ICC to work correctly, even if it is for sublimation.
