If you are doing that many have you looked into a wide format printer.....Might not be portable enough but will be faster and cheaper.....
Epson 1100 or GX7000
I am started to feel very frustrated with my homemade epson 1100. So cheap, but so many problems! I am to the point of considering the gx7000. What is the latest word on this printer? Does it still burn out within a year or so? What is the ink price comparison?
Also, how fast does the gx7000 print? I do events where I have to print about 400-500 13x19 transfers within a few days. I've been outsourcing the work to a local company because my epson is very slow. Is the gx7000 much faster?
Are there any other options? All info very appreciated!!

I only print that many in an event about every 2-3 months. I do want a wide-format printer, I'm just not able to spend 2-4k yet to set it up.
If you are not printing often on the Wf1100 at least every 3 days or so you will have banding issues.I only print that many in an event about every 2-3 months. I do want a wide-format printer, I'm just not able to spend 2-4k yet to set it up.
