Hi guys need some help on the emulsion thickness. Along with the ink I just bought is a sheet with all the necessary information, such as emulsion thickness, how to clean ink off the screen and such.

It's asking for the emulsion to be between 200 - 700 micron...um, what's that in english? haha, is 200 micron 1 coat of emulsion or 2 or what? I mean, how does one measure in micron anyway?

Any ideas? Thanks again.

Alan, I wouldn't worry about microns, it's not like you can measure that on a screen anyway. One coat on each side using the sharp edge of the scoop coater for most all printing. If printing white ink through a coarse screen, one coat on the ink side, two coats on the print side.... you should be fine. I've seen some post like two coats on each side for general printing, but I don't like the feel of that much ink on the shirt. Experiment and see what works best for you.
