I'm using a new screen mesh 230 from myold 160. I'm using the same time to expose but the first one some of the emulsion was still hard and did not wash off after I exposed it. Should I leave it on longer?
Justin, how long are you exposing, and are you using a vacuum unit?I'm using a new screen mesh 230 from myold 160. I'm using the same time to expose but the first one some of the emulsion was still hard and did not wash off after I exposed it. Should I leave it on longer?
Thanks for the reply,Justin, how long are you exposing, and are you using a vacuum unit?
Sounds like over exposure to me, but a little more info could pin point the problem.
Although this is a industry excepted info. I find the only reason for this is due to EOM (emulsion over mesh) the lower the mesh the more EOM, thicker stencil. If you can teach yourself in your coating techniques to allow a slightly thicker coating on higher mesh you can expose the same time across the board. I expose my 128 the same time as my 272. Only because the thickness of the stencil is the same. This also only works if you use either yellow mesh or white mesh in all sizes.Your exposure time shortens as your mesh count goes up.
Higher mesh=shorter exposure
