Help! I have only been screen printing since December. Recently I have been having issues with the emulsion locking into the screens when I clean them out. I have read lots of helpful information here but I can't seem to pin down the cause. I was wondering if I could get a list of reasons that causes this to happen?

Thank you!

If the emulsion is not fully cross-linked on exposure, cleaning solvents interact with the emulsion to lock it in. If your screen washes out cleanly, try post exposing, either in your exposure unit or in direct sun. God Bless.

If it is during reclaiming that it gets locked in, is the emulsion stripper drying before you power-wash it out? If so, in addition to underexposure this can make it much more difficult to remove the emulsion. If this does happen dehaze can help. But the best is not to let your emulsion stripper dry on the screen.

Be well.
