I started out a little over a year ago with a very cheap $194 15x15 press from ebay. I can honestly say that little investment made me Thousands of $$$$!!! But I know my time is limited with that press so I decided to get a better one and retire that one to be a travel press. I heard that Hix, Knight, Insta and Stahls make great quality presses, but I'm not there yet. So I settled on the SP900 Sunie/Seiki 15x18 Swing press. Roughly $200 more than my original press.

It just arrived...

WOW!!! What a difference! This thing is solid and feels smooth and professional. It heats well and I can't wait to start using it. I am able to get more pressure with a lot less effort. It is threadable and with the swing away top platen, I can line up garments a lot easier and more accurately. Although I can't recommend this fully (hey it just got here) Initially I am very impressed. I know this is not an Insta or Stahls, but for me it is a difference of night and day. I can't wait until I can justify paying for a hotronix.

Definitely a girl! Which is causing problems with my wife lol.

Took her out this weekend for an on site job. FANTASTIC! I am printing on demand. This press makes it so much faster and easier. The cool thing is that I was able to talk to customers while pressing shirts, without skipping a beat.

Made new executive decision. This will be my travel press and I will start hunting for a higher quality press for the shop. Words of wisdom: If you have to start with an el cheapo press, so be it. But as soon as you can, spend the extra and upgrade. It's worth it. Meanwhile....Insta here I come!

Hello,
I'm a bit puzzled - if I made "Thousands of $$$$!!!" as you put it, I would have re-invested part of it into one of the presses you mentioned. But hey, if that business model is working for you, drive on.

No puzzle, if you operate in a vacuum the you take the first $3, 000 and buy a Stahls air press with the kung fu grip. IF not you pay your bills, saving gradually while you learn the business. You reinvest when it makes sense to you. Different strokes...

How goes the new press? I had read recent bad reviews by some, whereas others had great results with this company. So i chose to get an $859-900 press in the future, but now i'm back considering a Seiki/Sunie. How is the weight? that's my biggest concern. I will have to find a stand and a proper place to store it

I would like to know as well about theSP900 - I am also considering purchasing this press. Any opinions? I really want to eventually get either a George Knight or a Hotronix Fusion, but have to settle for less for now. My current press I bought off of Amazon is overheating and I need something asap - fall shows are coming up soon.
