it's a scottish saying,
it means everything is alright

whenever i trace i get the trace and the raster i traced,
i delete the raster and have my trace for cutting
ie. the trace is a wholly separate entity from your art, the two are not linked once you hit 'trace',
or 'trace outline', or 'trace and detach'

i could simply reopen that raster in a new window, copy/paste into the window where my trace is,
center it and do a print and cut from there
or as i have done in the pic below, i simply copy/pasted a couple of the designs before tracing
as you can see the 'erased' cutline trace is separate from the design,
i can simply delete that one and re-center one of the copied designs and center it on the vector trace

I'm not familiar with vector and rastor formats or terminology. I'm a photographer. I'm using jpeg images. When I add or re-add a photo over a trace, the trace disappears. I tried copying both the trace and image to separate silhouette documents and them pasting them back. I was able to get both on the same page, but lost the transparency to line them up.

jpeg/png = raster
svg/eps = vector

to use the cameo to cut it needs a vector line (a series of points and the direction/curve from one point to another)

did you try the method i outlined above?
was it hard to follow?

i'll try to reword it into a step-by-step tut

- open your design in silhouette studio and resize to your required dimensions
- copy design and paste it, move this copy off to the side
- highlight your original design once more
- open trace window, do what you do to get the yellow trace to how you want it and hit 'trace'
- highlight your design you just traced and delete it
- you are now left with the red vector outline (see above pic) of your trace, the cut-line for the cameo
- choose your copied design off to the side, hold shift, and choose your red trace cut-line
- hit the center horizontally and center vertically
- print and cut

I dont copy and paste, I reduce the size of the cut studio and reduce the size of the jpg file window, then drag and drop onto the work space. I trace and then move the image off to the side of the 'cutting area'. I found it was handy for customers that have multi size logo's etc so when they return for more all of their cuts are in one workspace file in cameo.
