Hey folks,
I only just learned that vinyl can be printed instead of cut. So now, I'm trying to figure out the difference between the printable vinyls.
I'm hoping to get it from Stahls. My printer will be using Eco Solve inks.
The choices I've seen are:
CAD-COLOR® Solutions™ Opaque
CAD-COLOR FILM
Colorprint II

The shirts will be 50/50 t-shirts, sweatshirts & hoodies all in green.
Can someone explain which product should be used and why?

What printer do you plan on using w/ these "Eco Solve inks"????

(I thought "Eco Solve inks" needed a "special" printer???)

Unsure of the CAD Color products, I have used the Solutions Opaque material though on a Roland Versacamm SP300V. You will need a mask for solutions opaque, as it is applied just like regular sign vinyl (non printed CAD cut material usually has the mylar backing and you cut in reverse).

My suggestion is to contact Josh Ellsworth at Imprintables (a Stahl's dealer) and get a free sample of the vinyl and mask. He should be able to cover the difference between the materials as well. There's also some videos on their page covering how to use the material.

For information on how to get ahold of him, view the Exclusive Discounts for Forum Members forum and look for Imprintables.com. You may want to ask if the mask is reusable too. I forget if it was the MAgic Mask or the TTD mask that I got, but I reuse it quite a few times on the same design before it loses its tack and I need to cut another piece.

Thank you for the information. Since I'm in Canada, getting a sample from Josh isn't a good idea for me. But I will certainly look at the information on their site. I'll also call Stahls now that I have a better idea what I need to be asking.

Ashamutt, I have a printer who will be applying the image for me. I don't know what printer model he uses, but he is a sign printer, so I know he has the right equipment. He told me it needs to support Eco Solve because that's what he already is using.
I don't know yet whether he will be doing the contour cut or me.. but that's neither here nor there til I figure out what product we're using.

COOL!
You just gave me an idea!!!!!
Since I (as of now) cannot afford a "versacam" or a new "eco-solvent" printer...and since I can't find a used ES printer yet....
I have a sign shop near me that might print for me ......it is the same shop where I purchased my Graphtec cutter.

I absolutly love this solvent printable Tshirt material!!!!!!
It's color and printed resolution are phenomenal and it stretches like spandex!!

I was at the "great garment graphics" seminar yesterday and we got to press some of this stuff!!......needless to say I LOVE IT and am now on the hunt for a used ES printer!!!!! LOL!!!!!

I'm glad to hear the seminar was great. They don't come to Canada until next month, so I still have to wait :)
Do you know what brand they demonstrated? I know Stahls works closely with them.

You will enjoy it!

They demonstrated things stahls sells.
.......Versacamm, roland 24' cutter, hotronix & phoenix heatpresses........and a lot of their vinyl along with their heat transfer papers.
It was a "hands on" seminar and was a lot of fun as well as a nice learning experience in vinyl application and multi layer vinyl application!!

I did not attend the second day because my hubby had a doc appt.

...but the second day was supposed to be "contour cutting" transfer paper and learning how to run the cutter!
(I have a GRAPHTEC and the demonstration was for a ROLAND......oh well)

I hope that they send the same people to do the Canadian seminar..... It was fun
:)...but you might leave there wanting a Versacamm real bad!!!!!! LOL!!
....let us all know how it goes for you!
