Hi, hoping someone can help me
Does dye sub ink go off? I've got some ink with expiry dates on the bottles - just wondering if they are set in stone or just a guide - ie if you have stored it correctly etc it will still be ok after these dates?

I don't know. I hope it will still work because I have some bottles that will expire too. I do know that the chromablast ink didn't work well after it expired.

Yes and No. If the bottles are sealed and in a dark cool place, then as long as you shake the inks before use, they will be ok.

If the bottles have been opened, then it's possible for a fungus to start growing in the ink. If this fungus then gets into your print-head, it will reduce the lifespan of the head.

If the seal on the bottles is not air-tight, then some of the water in the sublimation ink will evaporate and the result will be a sublimation solution that will block your print heads and ink pipes.

If you have cartridges, then after the "expiry" date, ink starts leaking through the rubber seals of the cartridge, and again you run the risk of the fungus problem.
