Going to buy my first DTG this week, and have spent about 2-3 weeks checking every resource I can find to educate myself.

My question is --- where is the technology now?

Are the new i-series Anajets finely stable? Is there actually a reliable DTG out there being made, one that requires a little TLC but is not completely high maintenance?

If I maintain good humidity and run printer almost everyday can I avoid most the nightmare stories I am reading?

Is there even such thing as a low maintenance DTG as most are now marketing themselves?

Word on street is new Epson may be easier to maintain than most but then again they are so new --- not allot of feedback yet!

The machines I have seriously considered purchasing are:
Epson F2000
Anajet MP5i
Veloci-Jet XL (the new price is nice at $13,995)
Mod 1
TexJet Plus

Any insight to these products in todays terms ---so many of the DTG forums are outdated when it comes to specific issues.

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!

Have you seen any of these printers in person? My suggestion is to wait till the next tradeshows. I believe ISS in Nashville in May. Check out every printer. Go with a list of questions and artwork. Have all the companies print you a sample and compare. You also want to go with a company with the best support. Check out what people are saying here in the forums for each of these printers. They all have there own threads.

I would strongly recommend the neoflex its maintenance is not that bad, pretty simple actually, and I will bet my last dollar that you will not find better support than All American. If you ever get in a jam with your printer (and you will) tiger techs are there to help, you also will have neo seniors, MIB, and just regular neo family like myself ready to help anytime. Mr. Peter Choi (Neo father) owner of AA even post his personal cell inorder to be helpful, name another power player that does this. If your set on the Epson f2000 AA also sells these and probably has the best Rip (neorip) software on the market now.

OK ---
My wife and I have officially made the jump into the apparel business. Our start up looks like this:

Epson Surecolor F2000 White Edition
SpeedTreater TX
Hotronix Auto Open Clam Heat Press
Graphtec CE6000 24" Cutter

I ordered Epson & ST from Equipment Zone along with training.
The Heat Press gear was from Stahls.

I also decided to give DecoNetwork a try ...
As the owner of a sports facility I understand the importance of strong software integration to stay organized and save time so Im hoping DN will turn out to worth the investment.

I will be keeping the community up to date with how things are going with this setup as I found reading these postings were invaluable in my decision making!

Peace,

Great decision! Great printer, best brand of pretreatment machine (IMO), best brand of heatpress (IMO), great cutter from what I hear.

Another thing that is great about having training in your location is that it is done in your location and with your printer. Gives you a massive head start in your education with your new equipment. Best of luck to you!
