DTG fulfillment- what blank to use?

1822 Views 14 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  SimpleMinds
So I had some samples made from a DTG fulfillment service. I was quoted $9 for any color shirt/print on a Gildan Ultra 2000 or $11 on American Apparel 2001 blanks. I had used Haynes 5280 in the past.

Either way, I obviously want to keep my costs cheap, but I want to make a shirt that will last. I'd like to hope it was a fluke, but one of the samples I had made on the Gildan 2000 tore at the seam the first time through the wash.

I was given the option of supplying my own blanks, with the knowledge that 1/100 may be lost due to errors. I guess my main concern is durability. I'm not as worried about feel, but I guess I should be. We'll see.

Go with alstyle apparel. They have national locations and the prices are good. Lots of skate companies your AAA for there stock shirt and also they have been starting to compete with american apparel by coming out with soft tees, v necks, slim fit, etc.

I appreciate the suggestion. I'll have to check it out with my DTG guy. It's way easier if he can get the shirts. That way he can just order 1 if need be and I don't have to supply him. Right now I have gotten great turn around because of his accessibility to his supplies.
gijoe985-Who do you use for your DTG fulfillment service? I found one in Chigaco but there are a few fees to set it up but I couldnt find anyone else that had good garment selection. Let me know. Thanks!

I believe I know that people in Chicago. If it is them, they do have a great garmet selection. Good quality too. I'll PM you some info.
what other blank tshirt companies are pretty good?
gijoe985-I got your PM and I sent one back. I can only have 5 PMs for some reason, maybe b/c I'm new? I cleared it out.

SimpleMinds- Are you looking for tshirts wholesale or a company that does fulfilllment?
ummm maybe wholesale i think. what does fulfillment mean?
Are you wanting to buy shirts at wholesale price (reduced price so can make profit) and have a local printer print them?
OR
Fulfillment is a place that has the shirts, does the printing, and the shipping. One company does it all.
maybe fulfillment at first, until i get a machine to do it myself
The G2000 is a good quality t shirt. I would say the tearing at the seam was a fluke. They generally hold up pretty good! Good luck! Hanes beefy tees are also a nice choice (5180).

Agreed on the beefy t, but it is about twice the price for me.
is the g2000 hanes as well or a ifferent company?
do you know what shirts have 40s? and how can you tell?

The g2000 is just another name for the Gildan. Some distributors give it an item number of 2000, some use g2000, and some use g200.
