Hi everyone, I'm new to t-shirt forums. I'm interested in starting a clothing line. I've been dreaming about doing this for the past 2 yrs, but I haven't started on anything. I work a lot but I've been using that as an excuse for long enough, it's time for me to get off my [email protected]@ and do something. I have a ton of questions and I know there are plenty of knowledgable, well accomplished entrepreneurs who frequent this site. Any help would be greatly appreciate, thanks in advance.

I plan on outsourcing. I've been thinking about going around to some of the local schools in my area to search for an aspiring graphic designer or two. I figure a college student's price would be reasonable, any experience with that?

Cheaper is not necessarily better unless the price difference is very wide. A professional may be able to give you some suggestions but it really depends on the attitude of the person. Some professionals charge higher for no other reason than being a pro - or someone who is into it commercially.

On the other hand, an aspiring artist who is truly interested in his craft should be able to come up with commercial quality designs.

It also depends on your design and if you have an eye for good design then that definitely helps. Just talk to a few from both camps and maybe go by gut feel.
