Hey guys, firstly I would like to say I am glad to be part of your community, and have been before under a different name but I can't remember the username for the life of me, or the e-mail in fact! I look forward to becoming part of the community again! I hope everyones weekend is going well, I have one question about using drawing fluid and screen filler on a t-shirt...

I've decided to try out drawing fluid whilst my lamp is in repair for the photo emultion method, Anyways, I have a design that features some white text in a black A3 rectangle box. I am going to be using the drawing fluid method, but initially thought I would need to fill in the black areas, which would be pretty much the whole screen with the drawing fluid. leaving the small word in the middle of the design empty, ready to be filled.

But then this morning, I thought about maybe just drawing the font design with the filler rather than the drawing fluid, and from what i believe, the drawing fluid is just a repellent for the screen filler, so if I drew my type on with the screen filler, then ink it over, the type should stay white right? Let me know any thoughts :)

Cheers

Yes.... You are correct. When you are using the old "tusche & glue" method you are drawing in a 'positve' mode. The filler is a 'negative' mode.

You want to do your lettering in a 'reverse' (clear on dark background), so you have to think in an opposite way.

By the way, I haven't seen anyone use the tusche & glue method in over 30 years! We used to sell a lot of it when it used to be in vogue for a low cost print shop doing "art".

It's nice to see there are still some artists left in this digital computer graphics world :)
