Does size matter

hello all, so here is my dilemma. I am looking to purchase a Baruden. I checked into all top companies out there(SWF, Tajima, others). I have decided to go with the Baruden. Now here is the question, "does size matter?" I am looking to get the CO1: BEVT-Z1501 CII, which has the larger sewing field @ 450 x 520. The other option is the Elite Pro II: BEVT-Z1501 CB II which has the sewing field @ 330 x 500. The larger one has the larger work space as well for larger jackets and blankets.

I am new to embriodery, actually never used a machine. Should I go with the larger expense, machine, and space, or start small? I know shirts, hats, beanies, will be 90% of my business.

Thank you all in advance.

My Barudan has a 460 X 434 max field. We've had 8 jobs in the past 6 months that needed a larger field. One of the jobs was big. We had to use the sash frame for the single head Tajima. What a pain that was. No, we don't use the large size every day but it's there when you need it.

I went on line and looked at both of them. The one with the larger field looks just like mine, only 1 head instead of 4. If you plan on staying in the business I would get the bigger sewing field. Not so much because of the sewing field but the machine is a better built piece of equipment and will serve you well for many years. It will have better resale value if you decide to upgrade to a larger machine. I've had mine for almost 7 years and have never had a problem.

Are those commercial machines or home based machines.

I would stick with Commercial because they're built to last. We love the SWF machines.

If you have the space, and can afford the cost difference.
Go with the bigger sewing field. You will thank yourself down the track when you need it and can do the job with no cursing. :)

If you are only going to own one machine, it needs to be the most versatile you can afford.

Larger sewing field will come in handy more times than you think.

In this case it's one of those things that is better to have and not need than need and not have. Sooner or later you will get a job that will require a large hoop. You can split your design or buy the bigger hooping machine. I'd rather get a bigger machine over trying to line up a split design. Just my 2 cents.
