great cut is a cutting utility with no design features,,, you can design in corel Draw and send it to the cutter or you can design in most any program that will allow you to export a eps file and import it into Great cut... by the sounds of it you either do not have greatcut installed correctly or it may not be activated..

Great Cut does import the file/image...it just doesn't do anything...trust me it's installed correctly...the little green cutter icon shows as well as the print job that SHOULD be being cut...only the cutter just sits there...doing nothing at all...but causing much aggravation...
I asked about the other software because it's been 2 days now and I can't get this to cut anything...I figured before I completely give up & sell it off I'd try something else...

I apologize ahead of time if any of my answers seem rude or ignorant but I started messing with this huge POS Thursday afternoon and it.s now Saturday....
I tried to install on a brand new 64-bit computer...nothing but complete & total aggravation for 2 days straight...
drivers won't install, cutter just kept sliding back & forth, the computer wouldn't/couldn't "find" the device when the USB was attached...pretty much everything that SHOULDN'T happen did happen...
so I figured ok I'll install it on my 32-bit laptop...same deal...drivers wouldn't install...couldn't reach anyone through the support number on the 1/3 chinese, 1/3 blank pages, 1/3 12-year-old website (which causes more problems than solves them)...
I read all the manuals, installed (tried to) using the disk that came with it, nothing happened at all....but it did stop zipping back and forth though!! yay...if that ain't worth $500+ I don't know what is...
so I was ready to box it back up & sell it and tried to re-install on the laptop AGAIN...this time it at least shows the drivers are installed...only when I make an image and try to send to great cut great cut is frozen...can't use it at all...nothing highlights on rollover...can't click "file, edit, design, view, etc." and can't even close the program..it freezes the whole goddamn laptop....
if it wasn't for dazzabling I'm 100% positive this POS would have been smashed & burned yesterday....but I still have faith that somehow I'll get it working...lol...all I know is I'll NEVER, EVER buy another GCC cutter EVER again...
I've had less trouble installing a home studio at my friends house and he had $50,000.00 in equipment...
anyway, that's why I asked if the other software worked...I'm tired of bullsh*ttin around with everything...if I can use different software for both designing & cutting that would be better...

yeah I called 6 times...voicemail every time...
There is a setting to change the cutter between 32 bit and 64 bit...

Does Great Cut open?
Can you select menu items?
If so, try opening the test file included with Great Cut. It's in a "jobs" directory under the program install directory.
If it opens then try cutting it.
Worry about importing and transferring graphics after you get it running.

whenever I try to import anything into great cut it freezes the whole laptop up and I gotta re-start it...
I un-installed and re-installed it again and it does the same thing...

Open Great Cut
Open the sample file supplied by GCC.
Does it open?
If it does load vinyl and see if it cuts.
