Let me take away the punch line right now. I do not plan on mounting my heat press for my own personal satisfaction.

Now that we're past that, I have a Hix 600p (16" x 20") and was wondering if I need to mount the heat press to my work table - or is it heavy enough to simply sit on top of the table without affixing it to the work space?

Thoughts?

There is no need to mount it to a table. You might want to reposition it later.

Not sure if the Hix has a stand but my DX-20 is on a steel stand with lockable casters and is great if you have to move it around like I do.

I cut a piece of kitchen shelf liner (the kind that is rubbery, with holes in it...kinda looks like a spider web), and placed it under my swing press to keep it from moving around. A rubber bathtub mat would do the trick as well.
