Do I have the right conveyor dryer to water based ink?

Hello. I like the concept of water based ink printing and would like to confirm whether I have the right conveyor dryer. It's an older model HIX 021 Infra Air dryer. It's an electrical unit with a fan speed setting of 0-9 and it has a separate exhaust fan that is not controlled by the setting control knob. I would appreciate it if anyone out there has this same dryer and is using it for water based inks. Thank you for your time.

Are you able to control the belt speed? Waterbased inks need to be under the heat longer (2 to 3 minutes) so a slower belt speed helps.
For water base with no harderner, you need a huge forced air dryer.

Some brand of water based you can add a special hardener.
An harderner that will remain in the ink for 24h, so you will not loose any ink after a print run.

It is ideally suited for short fixation or drying at low temperatures.

This. Any conveyor dryer with speed and temp adjustments will work. Opening the doors on the ends will help draw off moisture.
The advantage of forced air is that it increases efficiency, as will a longer and wider dryer, but I use a 5 foot conveyor with a 20" belt. My waterbased work is pretty much confined to small heart prints or very short-run work because of my dryer limitations, but it does work under those parameters.
Some are successful using only a flash for curing, but those individuals we call masochists. :p
Thank you for all of your responses. Splathead, yes I am able to control the belt speed. Its a 1-10 setting. Right now setting 4.1 runs for a minute. The belt is 10 ft by 2 ft and the drying section under the fans and heaters is 6 ft. Jgabby, does the hardener change the way the ink feels on the shirt? Thanks again to all of you.
