DIY washout booth

21008 Views 53 Replies 24 Participants Last post by  selanac
Just thought of something while I was washing out some screens on my booth. Had this in my backyard for those that want to make a booth. This would be a good idea. Large igloo about $50 at walmart. Maybe build a stand or just throw it on a table.

I used a shower stall out of a moter home, compleat with drain
i use a home depot slop sink and built walls around it and a roof. i used to have plans for it, but I lost them.
That so funny......I thought I was the only one who used an old cooler.
Here's mine from a Home Depot twin basin utility sink with the partition cut out:

Very nice man! What is that that u used for the sides?
That's translucent corrugated plastic that people usually use for greenhouses or cheap patio covers. I just overlap the panels and used rivets to join them, then short sheet metal screws to attach them to the wood framework around the sink.
Wow thats really impressive. Like the backlighting, pretty pro set up :p
I have been using a shower stall for a long time. Works out great. I just did a job for a tool and die company and the owner asked if the was anything I needed that he could help with. Of course I said a wash out booth. Should be done next week. Complete with drain and back light.
So how exactly does the cooler work? Do you put it in your bathtub so it can drain?
Nice one, tpitman! I just have a utility sink but have yet to enclose it (in the past I've use our shower stall). I put the mesh that goes in a swamp cooler behind the screen to prevent water from splashing back out of the sink...
I made one just recently, went a little different way than the others that I've seen but works great.

Posted few weeks ago:
"As promised, here are few pics. I have purchased 32x32" tub from Home Depot and I have ordered 1/4" polypropylene sheets from a local distributor (It think, cheapest place for polypropylene in the country http://freckleface.com/shopsite_sc/s...inchthick.html). I have used 2x4 for a construction and I have connected water with 2" pipes to the floor drain in my basement.
Right now I do not have a faucet on it (to wash hands) but I have a hose connected and I have a power washer connected too.
I hope this will help someone down the road.

Good luck"

Hi, Nice job, I know this is an old tread, but if you don't mind can you give me the measure that you use, ex: high, wide.
Thank you
I just built mine. I bought a big plastic storage bin, cut a big part of the front off, cut some drain holes inside. Took some window screen and attached it to the drain holes with duct tape, to filter emulsion since it is dumping on the ground. Then also added some corrugated signboard to the back and sides to make it taller using duct tape and packing tape to attach it. Then set in on a old chair outside. The sides hang off the chair which is where the drains are. It works.
Hey Tom - I was thinking this exact thing...I'd surely love to see your pictures, which seem to be gone now. Did you have to reseal the partition once it was cut out? The sinks I've looked at appear to have a hollow partition.
