Hi all,

I am based in Ireland and want to start doing up some brochures containing images from stock transfer companies. So far I have contacted three - X-it and Dowling Graphics have said yeah, no problem and are sending me them on by cd.

Wildside are being an absolute nightmare!! They have gone from saying they definately could not supply them under any circumstances to saying they can supply them - but say I will have to pay $50 an hour to have work done!!! I can not afford this and find it highly unreasonable as I will be paying to print brochures to promote their products!! I don't know where to go from here. I would like to use their images but am not paying for them.

Any ideas anybody??

Thanks

It sounds like there might be a miscommunication. You say you want to use their images, but then you say it would cost $50 to have work done?

Stock transfers are just that. Stock. They aren't editable images that you can add stuff to (for the most part). Many times, they are already printed so you just have to receive them and apply them with a heat press.

It sounds like you are asking them to make changes to their artwork, which of course would require time and fees to compensate for the time spent creating a new image for you. It doesn't sound unreasonable at all.

Or I could be totally misunderstanding things :)

Hi Rodney,

I don't want them to change anything. Sorry, probably didn't explain very well. I am trying to produce brochures of t-shirts for sale. Some of these would include images from the Wildside catelogue. If the guy who is producing catelogue tries to copy from website to print in brochure it is not suitable for print - image is tiny and when made bigger looks terrible. What I want from Wildside are digital images so that I can promote my products (and theirs!).

You might be able to get a printed catalog from them and scan the ones you need.

Hi,

Yes. Was speaking to my marketing guy today and he said maybe just buy transfers and scan - I think images from their catelogue would be too small but will try! Anything to save a few pence.

Thanks.
