Hi, this is my first post here, and i think this is a great forum :)

Im just getting into screen printing, and have set up my first job on my manual printing press.

I did my first print on a "fanshirt" t-shirt, and it passed the wash test at 40c...

I then did the same print on a fruit of the loom super premium t shirt, and the design washed out at the top:confused:

Has any one else experienced this when using different t-shirt brands?

i can confirm that the dryer was situated in the same place over the platten, and was fully up to temperature. All settings were the same.

Your help would be greatly appreciated :)

im using union plastisol ink, and curing under a flash dryer for 70 seconds (on the platen)

All settings are the same for both t shirts, and i could print em both one after the other, but get different results after washing :(

If one brand is thicker than the other, the thicker brand will take longer to cure. it absorbs more heat. One thing you may want to try is to lift the shirt off the platen so it is not stuck to the platen, let it lay the same way just not pressed down on the platen. This will allow heat to get under the shirt and will cure much faster. It will also keep the platen from getting so hot because of the time it takes to cure is shorter.
