Thanks to all who offered advice to the "burning" problem I was having with getting an outline of the base of my press on my shirts around the transfer.

I pre-pressed 'em, cut down on the pressure and temperature for opaque transfers on black shirts and it seemed to take care of it.

BUT I needed to increase temp and pressure for transfers on white shirts.

Does this sound right?

After washing the shirts that had the base outline on them, they looked fine.
However I don't want to wash every shirt I make before selling so the less pressure/less temp seems to make sense.

Suggestions?

I press with very heavy pressure on whites and very light pressure for darks as all you are doing is adhering the transfer - with whites you are melting the carrier/inks into the shirt fibers as much as you can.
