After going through several threads it seems that people prefer to use different brands/models of paper depending on what's being sublimated. Here's what I've gathered so far:

-Coastal's Image Right is works well on hard surfaces like mugs and aluminum.
-TextPrint HR provides better transfers on fabrics.
-DyeTrans can be used as an all purpose sublimation paper.

Did I get that right? I'll be using the Artisan 1430 with Cobra Ink to sublimate on quite a few products and I'd like to get the right paper for the different jobs. While I understand each combination of ink/paper/product requires trial and error for best results, I'd still like to know which paper would provide the overall best transfers.

Should I get Image Right and Texprint, or use Dyetrans for all jobs. Or do you think there are better combinations?
Thanks in advance.

I have used DyeTrans multipurpose paper and Johnson Plastics JP Paper and I like the JP paper a little more. Maybe because the Dyetrans paper always arrived either dented or slightly damaged throughout the roll on the sides.

The multi purpose paper is good for metal and rigid substrates as it will not shrink on you and cause a ghosting effect.

For fabrics, you might want the texprint paper.

If I were you, start with the multipurpose paper since you will need it anyway and see how you also like it for fabrics. Maybe you can even get yourself an icc profile for that particular paper/substrate combination.
