I am using a Vinyl Express R31 Vinyl Cutter and I was wondering if anyone has used it to die-cut letters or designs into card stock paper.

I want to die-cut a design in the card stock, punch out the design and then use it as a template to paint that design on things. It would make the job so much easier if my plotter could cut it out for me instead of me doing it by hand.

Why use card stock instead of sign vinyl? I would think the vinyl would adhere better giving you less chance of paint seeping under the edges.

I want it to be on card stock so that I can reuse that template over and over again. It doesn't need to be perfect with crisp paint, I want to lay it down, spray over it and move on to do more of them.
With vinyl, it would be a much longer process.

If your cutter allows you to adjust your blade depth, or allows perforated cuts and/or multiple cutting passes you should be able to.
