I have transfer tape that I use for rhinestones. This tape won't remove the ink when I press and lift it from the paper?
I dont know, you should test it. It might work just fine.
Be sure the transfer has had time to dry before masking it with the transfer tape. Also you may need to peel the transfer tape cold on that product.
We do this, but on eco solvent printers using printable heat transfer films (htv). We have never had the ink come off, and it transfers fine.

I have used rhinestone transfer tape. It's a little temperamental regarding melting at high temp but worked fine in the press (I tested a small bit with a hand iron lol). As Amw said, cool peel or the transfer may lift from the substrate - just keep an eye on it. If it starts lifting, stop and let it cool a bit more. I also do a second finishing press with parchment to clean up any irregularities.

I use old HTV carrier no need to buy anything, you need to spatula up the design A LITTLE on the corners in one direction all bits text and such, drop the carrier on it, light press with a squeegee so all transfers to carrier, center on shirt, QUICK TACK for 1 to 2 secs, remove carrier cover with parchment/craft, press for recommended duration.
