hi all. i've been up down and all around design work for over 3 decades but i (myself) have never had to think out or produce having stripes printed on shirts.

i have a client who i've been thru 3 design changes with now and he finally decided on one of the comps. pretty simple design wise........his logo (just type) white ink above 2 horizontal stripes aka athletic looking shirt.

first is there a way to print stripes that go 'all around' the shirt from front to back? i mean i know there is but is it one of those prod methods where it has to be printed unsewn first and then sewn? has anyone had any experience with this?

the reason my client decided to go with this design was because it cut down the cost of what he wanted to do previously (5 color sleeve print) and front and back and BTW it's being printed on american apparel tees.

white logo, white stripe and pink stripe. how is this done prod-wise? i want to do the least amount of screen setup cost. do i just set the file up large enough to cover the 2xl shirt (stripes side to side) and let it just over extend the xs size?

kinda buggin since never involved with this side of the biz.

any help/insight would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!!!!

By "goes around the back" you mean it's a band of color that goes all the way around, correct? Not just over the sides? If that's the case, then yes, it'll have to be printed on uncut fabric and then sewn into a shirt, that's the only way to get a complete wrap-around design.
