Design Software Issue R-Jet 5i

982 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Resolute DTG
Hi all,

I had my training with Resolute today and we came across an issue that I still cannot rectify. I use Serif currently and every time I import an image to print, it will come with a box around it. We tried every transparency setting going and still it wouldn't work. The installation guy said that it must be that Serif isn't compatible so we would need to try another design software so I have downloaded a trial version of CorelDraw and the exact same thing is happening.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks,

I use CorelDraw with my 5i. I export to png file and then import the PNG file into the RIP software. Is this what you're doing?

I've also created png files from The Gimp and Inkscape with no problems although I mainly use Photoshop, again exporting to png format.

Everything you need is Resolute RIP.
Yes that's what I am doing, exporting as a .PNG file from Corel and opening up in the rip software.

I'm also having problems with the quality of prints, you are able to see the t-shirt through the print. This is more apparent when printing with white (such as text) on a dark t-shirt. This also happens when there is a white underbase too. Any idea what could be causing this and how to rectify it?
I've adjusted my pretreat method but still getting the same results, which is disappointing. I don't know if I'm expecting too much from the machine however the t-shirt printed on the Resolute website looks great but I'm not getting nowhere near that result.

If you are still having this outline issue let me know and I will login and have a look.

I have no knowledge of serif but Corel should not be doing this unless you have a key line (stroke) selected on the page or artwork.
